Snowbirds + Women’s Golf

Like many golfers, weather is a regular topic of conversation in regard to how it will affect my leisure time.  By January, I am usually muttering about how cold it’s been and how much I not only want but need to get out and play golf.  This is when I begin fantasizing about warm tropical breezes and playing golf. (For those of you who live in areas with real winters – just let me apologize now.  I realize you would consider most winter temperatures in North Carolina balmy.)  So, I am looking to snowbirds for some help to fulfill my vicarious journeys this winter.  What exactly is a snowbird?  This term applies to those who travel to warmer climates during the snowy time of year.  Often, snowbirds are retired and/or can travel for extended periods.  For example, a New York resident who travels to Florida for the winter could be dubbed a snowbird.  I’m calling on you snowbirds who play golf to send us your thoughts this winter.  Weather reports from warm climates are NOT what I am looking for.  Instead, I am hoping to enjoy some golf vicariously by asking you to share:

*Your must-have club

*Your hackers and hole-in-ones

*What course you are playing

I look forward to hearing from our women’s golf snowbirds.
