Golf Shot: Hold that Comment

I’ve committed a particular golf faux pas at least 100 times...  When my playing partners hit good golf shots, my enthusiasm erupts as soon as I hear the great sound of solid contact and see the golf ball on a promising path.  I usually say, “Nice!” just before things go wrong and the golf shot does not turn out to be “nice” at all.  The golfoutloud.com feature on golf etiquette outlines a couple of tips for handling this situation.  After reading these tips, I’ve decided to keep my comments silently to myself until each golf shot is complete.  I really do like to laugh, joke and talk with my playing partners during a round of golf, but this is one area of golf etiquette I plan to improve.

Golfoutloud.com wants to celebrate Thanksgiving with you.  Click “Add Comment” and share what you are grateful for this Thanksgiving.  I will include select contributions for a special Thanksgiving post on November 24th.  Comments received by November 17th will be considered for publication.
