Is the Person Who Lost This Golf Ball Mocking Me?

In a previous blog, I wrote about purchasing some golf balls from an internet business that specializes in used golf balls.  Recently, I was on a golf outing with my husband and I hit a shot to the right of the fairway into the grass.  Even though I needed all the distance I could get, the 3-wood was not an option to get the ball out of this grass.  I pulled out my 3-iron and walked toward the ball.  The picture above is what I saw.  I looked at the ball and thought, “What are you smiling at?”  I know this sounds ridiculous, but, honestly, that face was a complete distraction to me.  Whoever had owned this golf ball marked it with a big smile and, at that moment, that person was mocking me.  There was my ball in a tough spot, a long way from the green on this par 5 and the ball was “smiling.”  However, I smiled, too, and laughed a little.  The laugh relaxed me and I knocked that smiling golf ball back into the fairway with a long, clean shot.  I was very pleased with my shot and had to wonder if the person who originally owned the ball adds big smiles as golf marks to help herself relax.
