Do You Purchase Used Golf Balls?
Do you remember when the extent of the used golf ball business consisted of a guy with a bucket of balls he recovered from the weeds surrounding your local golf course? Now, selling used golf balls is a thriving business on the internet. Lady golfers can select the brand, style and even the grade (condition) of golf balls they would like to purchase. Selecting a lower grade ball can save you money.
After reviewing some of the sites, I wasn’t sure if used golf balls were for me (maybe because I am such a creature of habit and this would force me to try a new way to purchase golf balls). However, my husband and I decided to give them a chance and purchased a dozen TaylorMade Penta golf balls as well as a couple dozen of the women’s golf ball I usually play. The balls arrived and I was relieved to discover the quality was as described. I have been playing with the “experienced” golf balls all summer and have been pleased with the performance—especially since I saved a few dollars. Buying used golf balls is, in my opinion, a more economical way to try a new brand or model of golf ball without paying full price. Beware of shipping costs, though; this is key to maximizing your savings. My experience purchasing used golf balls is limited, but so far I am happy with my golf balls and will be making more purchases in the future.
