Would a Golf Outing Be a Good First Date?
Will he throw his clubs in an explosion of anger? Does he pout for long periods of time over one missed putt? Is he calm and focused when faced with a difficult shot out of the rough? Today’s question is, “Would a golf outing be a good first date?” Admittedly, it has been a very long time since I have been on a first date, and I honestly cannot decide if I would select a more popular choice like going to the movies rather than teeing it up. I think playing golf with someone is a great way to get to know his or her personality because you get to see how the person reacts to the good shots, missed hits and all other aspects of a round of golf. So, my answer is yes, I think golf is a great activity for a date. If both people play golf, I would go with a 9-hole round of golf. If the behavior and attitude demonstrated on the golf course is not problematic, add a post-round lunch or dinner. Even if the spark of romance isn’t there, you may at least end up with a new friend to play golf with. Golf as a first date? Go for it!
