Long Drives vs. Long Putts

On the drive home from the golf course, I was thinking about the saying “Drive for show and putt for dough.”  This mantra popped into my head as I was contemplating how differently my husband and I approach our golf games.  He enjoys hitting long drives from the tee.  My idea of a good drive is when my golf ball stays in the fairway.  When it comes to the golf swings that make up the clutch part of my golf game, I always look to putting.  Most of my confidence in my golf game resides in my putting stroke and my determination to achieve two or less putts on each green.  I enjoy hitting long drives, but I would much rather sink a long putt.

Would you prefer to hit long drives or sink long putts?  Send us your thoughts by clicking “Add Comment.”
